Hmmm…
New Mexico Politics reports:
The New Mexico Democratic Party caucus may be tainted by three ballot boxes that spent the night in the home of the Rio Arriba County party chair or the homes of other local election officials instead of being reported to the state party.
Those ballots still haven’t been counted, but they have been retrieved by the state party.
Several sources told me the ballot boxes spent the night at the home of Rio Arriba County Democratic Party Chair Theresa Martinez, whose state-lawmaker husband, Sen. Richard Martinez, endorsed Hillary Clinton. But Richard Martinez told Santa Fe New Mexican reporter Kate Nash that the boxes actually spent the night in the homes of three polling-place managers. He gave Nash no explanation for why the results from those ballots weren’t reported to the state party last night and why they were instead kept overnight in officials’ homes.
“The site managers locked them and they kept them and they took them to my wife this morning,” Nash quoted Richard Martinez as saying.

Meanwhile, Chelsea Clinton breaks Connecticut election law by being in a polling place once the polls opened. Read more. Why does the Clinton campaign always get the election laws wrong? It happened in New Hampshire and Nevada too.

I’m a native New Mexican, and I’ve lived in Northern New Mexico for over 50 years. The stories of election corruption in Rio Arriba County go back for as long as I can remember. The fact that the parties involved were pro-Clinton is really incidental to this story; you can be assured that if the same people had supported Obama, the same actions would have taken place.

I would encourage everyone to go to the DNC website and submit their concerns using the ask question section of the website. It is critical that we encourage the Democratic Party to set a higher standard for elections.
It is not good enough that people say “Oh I am so sorry” after the deed is done (like Chelsea in the NH polling place after it was open for the morning) or the horrible treatment by Clinton supporters running caucus sites in Nevada or the latest events in New Mexico.
Maybe we need to call in someone to oversee the primaries/elections like Americans have always been so quick to do in foreign countries. Hmm…..
