Barack Obama Declared Winner of the South Carolina Primary!

Wooooo!!!!

Exit Poll Highlights:

  • Obama won 55% of the male vote and 53% of the female vote.
  • He won all age demographics including older voters
  • The youth vote was up 4 percentage points compared to the last Democratic Presidential primary.
  • Obama won among blacks in all age demographics. There was not as much of a generational divide as some were predicting.
  • Obama won non-black voters between the age of 18-29! That’s an interesting generational shift among Southern non-blacks. He won 52% of their vote.
  • Obama won among all groups based on how frequently they attend church. He won 65% of those who go to church more than weekly. <–The people who started the Muslim smears are probably disappointed.
  • People thought Obama was most likely to beat the Republican nominee.
  • 46% of voters thought Obama was most qualified to be commander-in-chief while 35% of voters thought Clinton was most qualified.
