For the first half of Charlie Rose last night, Samantha Power was on giving a passionate policy driven analysis of why Obama would be a better President to handle our foreign policy. Interestingly, Mark Penn, Hillary’s chief strategist, came on for the second half of the show talking about polls polls polls.
(Starting around 45:20) Penn talked about Hillary “has got the strength and experience to make change happen.” Rose laughed at how ridiculous that statement was. LOL. Penn went on to proclaim, “She is a change candidate.” Charlie Rose asked, “Change from what? Change from George Bush? That’s not the kind of change they’re talking about…” with a you-can’t-be-serious look on his face. lol. Mark Penn smiled. These folks can’t be serious.

That was a great interview. I’ve forewarded it to everyone on my list. I’m sorry to have missed the Mark Penn part. It must have been an remarkable contrast. Samantha Power is a human being — fully emotionally, intellectually and ethically present. Penn is the exact opposite. He was on NPR here locally last week peddling his new book — Micro-trends. He is a glorified used car salesman. The gist of the book is to lay out his strategy for figuring out how to get people to give him what he wants — their vote, their business, their brains. What a snake.
