Obama to Black Voters: ‘I Walk the Talk’
Barack Obama addressed Al Sharpton’s National Action Network on Saturday. But to sum up his message, he says he doesn’t want you to vote for him because he’s black. (It’s funny that Hillary doesn’t mind asking people to vote for her so that she can ‘make history’ and ‘break that last glass ceiling’ but let’s not talk about that right now).
Obama said that he would like for you to compare everybody’s record and their concrete actions on the issues that matter to you and if there is another candidate who has a better record then he is happy to see you endorse them. He asks you to especially examine what other candidates have actually done on issues like health care, racial profiling, providing opportunities for ex-felons, and increasing funding so that kids can go to college. He said he is confident though that you’re not going to find anyone in the race right now who has his track record. Watch the full speech on cspan.com or watch a snippet below.
